L.I.F.E (4)

Kai has accept me as a family. I'm thankful for the changes. He always goes home earlier and always walk with me together to school even when I want to buy groceries he will follow me. He is indeed cute and talkative, always entertain me with his jokes and stories.

But, his two sister still hardcore with me. I hope they will accept me. Maybe, that particular one day..
When will it come? I leave a heavy sigh.


"Yuki, are you alright?", Kai looked at me with his worried face.I smile.
"I'm fine, Baby brother. Now, smile with those killer smile of me yet sweet", trying to convince him and smile broadly.
"You think my smile is sweet?", he looked away, his ears turn red and i could see he is blushing.
"Of course, Kai! Who on earth hate it? I'm not!", i looked at him, form a sweet smile and look at the empty playground. my lips form and evil smile and plotted some prank on him.
"Look even that girl say that!", I convince at him and point at the statue girl, i think she a cupid.
"Yuki!" He looked and blushed. I gently hit his hand.
"Ha ha ha ! That expression is priceless. I'm sorry but ha ha ha !", I couldn't stop laughing. at first he was mad but when he saw I'm laughing he couldn't help but laugh with me too.

I glance at the clock at the playground. It's nearly 6 p.m.
"Kai ! we better hurry up. Mother will be angry", I stand and pat on my cloth that full of dust.

on our way back. Kai act strangely.
"Yuki ~ Can.. can we hold hand?"he turn his face away and pouted. blushing.
"Ha ha ha ! Of course, baby brother. I'm afraid you might lost", joking with him and hold his hand. firm, masculine but also soft and comfortable.

"We're here!", i let go of my hand and open the door.
"We're back" i announced and enter the house. Kai just looking around the house. I know who he search.
"How many TIMES MUST I SAY ! COME BAC-", mother was about to explode but when she saw Kai with me. Her ranged disappear.
"Kai, honey. Are you hungry?", her voice soften and smile. Approach her proud son.
He stand still, no answer.
"come in, you must freezing cold out there. Oh my, why did you brought that groceries? It must be heavy" still trying to please her son. She take the plastic bag from his hand.
"We're back from the mall. they hav-"before I could finished the sentence.
"I DIDN'T TALK TO YOU!", she shouted at me and glare.
It hurts me when, she treats her son and other daughter caution and care. Am I .. not her's too? No! I shouldn't think that way! She my mom, it must be hard for her to accept me again.

I look down and take the plastic bag from Kai and go to the kitchen. I better arranged the cans and others. It's kinda heavy but I pretend I am fine and walk away.

Kai watch his sister walk. It give him mad at his own mother for treating her like scumbag. She nice and kind heart. How could she treat her own daughter like that!
"Kai, do you want water? I'll get it for you", I grab her hand and pull her to the cushion.
"I'll get myself" He chase Yuki.
"Yuki! I'll help you", smile at her. She look at Kai.
"No No ! you get a rest. I'll do it myself", She covered her pain with smile and laughed playfully. Push Kai away.
"I insisted!", he convinced her.
"I'm a man and I could help you carry it and help other thing too"
"busybody!" she laughed and couldn't against him.

"Are you tired Kai?", she asked him as he looked a bit exhausted.
"No! Why did you asked?" trying to get a grip. It really hard to be a housewife.
"Just asking. Take a rest, OK?", she said and pat his head. She took some mushroom, vegetables, and other ingredient to the sink. He look at her, Why she still have those smile pasted on her face, after those harsh words mother said.
She seem concentrate with her cooking and cutting. The aroma filled the air as pour all the ingredient in the pan. I really admire her.
"Kai ! What're you smiling at?", she asked.
"Nothing !"
"get some rest Kai"
"I'll help you, Yuki. I feel restless when I see you alone done the house chore. We're family right?" He said. the was he said was gently yet meaningful. It struck her, almost skip her heart beat, feeling suffocate with new feeling immersed her. Love. tear almost pour down, the happiness of Kai's love.
"It is" with a low voice she replied.
Three pair of eyes fulled of hatred with the scene happen in front of them. 
"Kai ! How could you !", the hissed under their breath. Outrages.

"Dinner is ready", She shout to everyone. Overwhelmed and overjoyed.
All of her family gather around the table. Side dishes that make their stomach grumble and can;t wait to try the food serve.They ate quietly.
she looked at everyone and smile behind the bowl. Kai looked at her and smile.

Kai switch on the T.V and watched documentary. Suddenly his twin sister sit beside him.
"Kai, we need to talk" his elder sister, Mika and look at him. 
"yes! It's family meeting!"Aida agree with her sister.
"What's it?", annoyed and give a cold answer.
"You know, our family rule no.1 never attached to HER!", Mika almost freak out.
"I didn't attached to her" more to liking her.
"Yeah right~" she rolled her eyes.
"Like I didn't know with your eyes only filled with her vision. Even your body now better than you" Aida added.
"I'm not!" trying to convinced them.
"You know yourself! For the past few weeks you keep on stalking her. Whenever she want to buy something, you would follow her. goes to school with her and back with her. I could track your activities and these activities didn't fit you !"
"I'm not stalking her! I just worried and what activities I always done anyway?"
"You would hangout with your jerk friends and some slu*. come back around two or three in the morning.. You didn't finished your homework and you didn't even talk to mother or even us. And you know what ~ You have been around that bit-"
"DON'T YOU DARE SAY HER WITH THAT WORDS!" He looked at her. His eyes glimpse with fire and anger.
"See what she has done to you!", they ran to their bedroom.
He leave a heavy sigh. How could I not worried about her?How could I look other side and let she getting all the pain from her own flesh? But, why must she my own flesh? Why can't she someone else daughter? Mika was right, She's my everything. I have like her long time ago. My life is messed up. How about her life?

"Kai ! " Yuki called him and wave in front of his face.
"Yuki, What is it?"
"No, you're day dreaming again", she said ans sit beside me.
"Can I change your channel?", she took the remote control.
"Yeah,  What're you gonna watch?" trying to loose focus about the problem, i try to enjoy myself with her.
"No, just switch it off. It's time to go to bed. Tomorrow we have school and you wouldn't want to miss your lesson right?"
"I am"
